Classic Eats is a radio show/podcast about culinary history. Why we eat what we eat. The people, places, and scenes and situations that set the course for the way we dine. For each show we pick a thing, a person, a drink, a movement or an object that made its mark on what we call food. It might be the origins of the Cuisinart, Antonin Careme’s architecture of sugar, American BBQ’s beachfront origins, or the stock exchange of nutmeg. We’ll keep it brief, pithy and ideally entertaining. And we will do our best to take you to the moment when everything changed.
